These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Komikus.fun and the Komikus Android app (published as "ComicMaker" / "Komikus" on Google Play), together "Komikus". By creating an account, uploading content, or otherwise using Komikus, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Komikus.
These Terms work alongside our Privacy Policy, Disclaimer, and Content License — together they're the full set of terms covering Komikus.
You must meet the minimum age required by your country's laws to create a Komikus account, and at minimum be old enough to lawfully consent to Google's own terms for Firebase/Google Play sign-in. Some content on Komikus is restricted to readers 18 or older — see our Disclaimer.
Komikus uses Firebase Authentication (Google sign-in) — there's no separate Komikus password to manage. You're responsible for keeping your Google account secure and for everything that happens under your Komikus account. One account per person; don't create an account to impersonate someone else or to evade a suspension.
Uploading a comic, cover, or other content to Komikus doesn't transfer its ownership to us — you keep it. Publishing does grant us a limited license to host and display what you upload so we can actually show it to readers, and you're responsible for making sure you have the right to publish it. The full terms of that license, what readers may and may not do with your content, and how you can choose a specific license (like Creative Commons) for a series, are all covered in our Content License — read it before you publish.
To keep Komikus usable for everyone, you agree not to:
Newly published chapters go through a review step before they're visible to the public (see our Disclaimer). We may review, remove, or restrict access to any content, and suspend or terminate any account, that we believe violates these Terms, our Content License, or applicable law — including in response to a report submitted through the in-app Report button. We try to be fair about this, but we don't owe anyone advance notice or an explanation before acting to protect the platform or other users.
The Komikus Android app displays ads through Google Mobile Ads (AdMob). See our Disclaimer and Privacy Policy for what that involves.
Komikus runs on Firebase/Google Cloud (authentication, messaging) and Google Mobile Ads (advertising, app only). Your use of Komikus is also subject to those providers' own terms where applicable. See our Privacy Policy for what data these services see.
You can stop using Komikus at any time, and you can permanently delete your account and everything tied to it from the Danger Zone tab in Settings — this is immediate and irreversible. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms; where practical, we'll aim to act in a way that's proportionate to what happened.
Komikus is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. Comics and other content on Komikus are created by independent third-party creators, not by Komikus itself — see our Disclaimer for the full detail on what we do and don't guarantee. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Komikus and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.
We may update these Terms from time to time as Komikus grows. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do; continuing to use Komikus after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are intended to be interpreted fairly and in good faith under generally recognized principles of contract law. If a court finds any part of these Terms unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. We haven't tied these Terms to a specific country's courts or laws at this stage — if you need a jurisdiction-specific version for your own purposes, please contact us.
