This Privacy Policy applies to Komikus ("Komikus", "we", "us", "our") — the Komikus.fun website and the Komikus Android app (published as "ComicMaker" / "Komikus" on Google Play). It covers everyone who creates an account, uploads a comic, reads a comic, or otherwise uses either product.
We use Firebase Authentication (a Google service) for sign-in. When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address, display name, and profile photo from your Google account. We store this alongside a Komikus-specific username (handle), avatar/banner images you choose to upload, and an optional bio/about section you write yourself.
Anything you publish through the app or website — page images, series titles, synopses, genres, chapter titles, and cover images — is stored on our servers so it can be shown to readers. See our Content License for how this content is used and who owns it (you do).
We use Firebase and Google Play services, which may collect standard technical information such as your device type, operating system version, app version, crash reports, and general usage analytics (which screens are opened, how often the app is used). The Android app also registers for Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) push notifications, which involves a device-specific messaging token.
The Android app shows ads through Google Mobile Ads (AdMob). AdMob may collect an advertising identifier and other information to serve ads, which may include personalized ads depending on your device's ad settings. We do not control what AdMob or its ad partners do with this data beyond what Google's own policies describe — see Google's Privacy Policy for details on how Google's advertising products handle data.
The website uses a session cookie to keep you signed in. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies on the website itself.
We use the information above to: operate your account and let you sign in; store and display the comics, profile details, and links you choose to publish; show you relevant content (browse, search, "Updated," favorites, follows); send account-related push notifications; keep the platform safe by reviewing reports and moderating content; and, in the app, support the product through advertising.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
We share information with the service providers that make Komikus work: Firebase/Google Cloud (authentication, messaging, hosting-adjacent infrastructure) and Google Mobile Ads (advertising, app only). We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Disclaimer and Content License, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Komikus, our users, or the public.
Anything you choose to make public — your profile, your comics, your bio, your support/social links — is, by design, visible to anyone who visits the site.
You can review and update your display name, username, bio, avatar, banner, About page, and support/social links at any time from Settings. You can permanently delete your account and everything tied to it — every comic you've published, your profile, and your data — from the Danger Zone tab in Settings. Deletion is immediate and irreversible: we cannot restore a deleted account, and signing up again with the same email starts completely fresh.
If you'd like a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or have any other privacy question, contact us (see Section 8) and we'll do our best to help.
Komikus is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. Some published comics carry a mature content rating and are not intended for readers under 18 (or the age of majority where you live) — see our Disclaimer. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will remove it.
We keep your information for as long as your account exists, or as needed to comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, but no online service can guarantee perfect security, and we can't promise your information will never be accessed by an unauthorized party.
Questions about this policy, or a request about your data, can be sent to support@komikus.fun.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as Komikus grows. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do; continuing to use Komikus after a change means you accept the updated policy.
